The Klinik Königshof is a specialist clinic for psychiatry, psychotherapy, psychosomatics and neurology. It belongs to the St. Augustine Clinics group of companies. In 2017 the foundation stone was laid for the three-storey white new building and extension with a central atrium. The main entrance in the old building with reception and admission was redesigned into a spacious foyer with a bright connecting passage to the new building. The resulting patient rooms with modern equipment have a harmonious, calming colour concept. The responsible architects are sander.hofrichter architekten GmbH from Ludwigshafen and the orientation design is by Joachim Kubowitz, oui orientierung und identität, from Cologne. The cosmos of the bee with the queen bee and the honeycomb architecture of her people form the starting point of the graphic concept for the new construction and conversion of the psychiatric clinic of the Augustinus Group. Graphic structures, some poetry, thoughts on church history and references to modern art, such as the Krefeld-born Joseph Beuys, accompany the visitor or patient through the new, spacious main corridor and lead him into the new building with three wards equipped to the latest standards.
